Pretty House

We had a house,

A pretty little house,

Pets to feed,

Plants to water,

The echo of a giggling child,

For what now seems like a moment, love filled the house,

And like kindling turns to ash,

It blew to nothingness in the wind,

Leaving only dreams and memories,

Thoughts of what could have been.
